Top Protein Powders on the Market: December, 2020

There are hundreds and hundreds of protein supplements on the market, all claiming that they are the best. Let's face it, you don't have the time or the money to try every single brand of protein supplement. Well, that's what the internet is for. I've got your back, my fellow bro/broette. Below is a list of the current best protein supplements on the market as of December 2020. As always make sure to leave a like and a comment below the post to show some love if you found this list of any benefit!

Best Overall Protein Powder:

Dymatize ISO 100 Whey Protein Isolate

We are all in search for the perfect supplement. A supplement that won't break the bank, tastes amazing, and is backed by solid ingredients without being too calorie dense. Dymatize's ISO 100 Whey Protein Isolate is by far the most dynamic protein powder on the market in my humble opinion. Dymatize was able to create a fantastic formula that is effective and delicious. The flavor that I was able to bless my mouth with was brownie batter, and let me tell you it blew me away. There are so many different options on how to use this protein powder as well. For me personally, I love to bake with my protein powder, and this flavor made fantastic protein brownies (if you would like the recipe, leave a comment below and I will post it in a separate article). I also thoroughly enjoy mixing this protein into oats in the morning and adding a little extra protein to my morning meal, and it tastes just delicious.

Why is this protein the best overall? So far all I've talked about is the taste, but this product goes so much further than that. The nutrition facts associated with this protein are so flexible. There are 25 grams of protein in each scoop, which is fairly standard. However, there is only 1 gram of carbohydrates, and 0 grams of fat! This makes this Dymatize a low calorie, straightforward product perfect for anyone trying to cut back on calories while keeping their protein intake high. Only 110 calories a scoop! This should be a go to supplement for any fitness focused athlete.

This product comes in 15 different flavors, so you will never be short on variety. As for price, this protein supplement is not expensive, and actually is much more affordable than some other choice proteins, mainly due to how simple it is in composition. For a 76 serving tub, it comes in at $75, just under $1.00 a serving. When you stop and think about what a great deal that is, it should be a no brainer to jump right onto the Dymatize bandwagon.

Best Budget Protein Supplement:

Optimum Nutrition Gold Standard Whey

The classic, the O.G protein for any gym rat finds itself on the list for the best protein powders of 2020. Why is this protein on the list? Well, to be plain and simple, its cheap and its all you need. It's a very basic protein in that there are no fancy additives or special ingredients that many other brands add to their supplements. It is a no crap, straight to the point protein powder. This drives the pricing of it down to a staggering 83 cents per serving.

The point is that if you are an athlete who doesn't want to commit to a high priced supplement, look no further than Optimum Nutrition's Gold Standard Whey Protein. There are a few cons, as expected. One of the main ones being that the taste of this protein is not great when compared to some of the other brands on this list. I tried out the vanilla, and it was just ok. There are a total of 6 flavors, none really catching my eye as anything unique or out of the ordinary. But the point is that for the price, you really can't ask for anything more in regards to taste or ingredients. This is a go-to product for anyone without deep pockets, or for anyone looking for a simple and self explanatory protein supplement.

Best Tasting Protein Supplement:

Ryse Chocolate Peanut Butter Cup Loaded Protein

I cannot rave about the taste of this protein enough. It is hands down the best protein that I have ever tasted in my life. It is definitely a little sweeter than the average protein supplement, but Ryse Chocolate Peanut Butter Cup Loaded Protein really satiates all of your desires if you have a sweet tooth like me. I literally will drink this protein shake at night for a dessert after dinner, that's how good it tastes! The downside to this protein is that it ends up being a little more expensive than your average priced protein supplement. For a 27 serving tub, it falls at around $40 and that is before shipping! However, always keep an eye out on their website for deals and sales, which seem to occur pretty frequently.

Another big con that I have found is that it is almost impossible to find in stock. You need to follow their social media page and when you see a restocking of this flavor, grab it before it's gone! I have also tried their other flavors, and they are all really solid. You can tell that Ryse put a lot of work and effort into making this protein as delicious as possible. Take a look at this protein if you are looking for something to satisfy your sweet tooth!

Best Well Rounded Alternative:

Blue Star Nutraceuticals Shake One

When I first purchased this protein, I really did not expect much out of it. I hadn't really heard of this brand, nor had I heard of any of their products. I was told by a friend to try this supplement out, and my oh my was I impressed. Not only was the flavor of this protein fantastic, but also I was incredibly impressed by the added ingredients in this supplement; One of which being the added caffeine. This shake is supposed to be a wake up shake, the first thing that you have in the morning to start your day. I always use it as a mix in with my protein oatmeal, and every morning I start my day off right with this product and a cup of coffee. It gives me a little extra boost to focus on my day ahead.

I tried out the mocha flavor, but also there is a chocolate, french vanilla, and a cappuccino which I hear tastes unreal. Most of the time, I'm not a huge fan of any coffee flavored proteins, but this mocha is such a slight hint of coffee that it adds to the taste immensely. It contains a 140 mg dose of a stimulant blend made to help you wake up and stay focused through your morning. I think this is a supplement that's vastly unspoken of, and really slips under the radar of a lot of fitness gurus. Try this protein out if you're looking for something new!

Hope that you thoroughly enjoyed my list of the top protein powders of 2020. If there are any that you think I have missed, leave it down in the comments below and I will give it my best shot and leave an honest review. Until next time!
