Legion Whey+ Isolate Protein Review

Legion Athletics fitness and health supplements have been said to be some of the best nutrition supplements on the market, and for good reason. Legion takes the time and energy to ensure that the quality and quantity of their ingredients are spot on. This is shown in a previously reviewed supplement by Legion Athletics, Legion Pulse pre-workout. As you can probably tell, I was excited to try and take a deep dive into Legions Whey+ Isolate Protein Powder.

Taste - 9/10 Cinnamon Cereal

I was extremely excited to try the cinnamon cereal flavor of this protein supplement. It seems like over the past couple years, cereal flavored protein powders have been the new fad. Almost any nutrition supplement company has their own version of a cereal flavored protein, whether it be fruity cereal, cinnamon toast crunch flavored, or even just a basic captain crunch flavored protein. What I find in many of these proteins is that although the taste of the flavor of cereal is at the forefront, I always still tend to taste that whey protein aftertaste. I am proud to say that in Legions Whey+ Protein Powder, this was not the case. They really did a solid job of masking the fact that this is a protein supplement. It tastes a lot like cinnamon toast crunch, but in its own unique way. The only thing that I thought that could use a little work was that it was just a little too sweet for my taste, which is interesting because one of the positive aspects of this protein is that there is no added sugar.

This protein mixes fantastically with anything you would like. I actually love this specific flavor because it is so versatile. I have been using this protein as the base for protein pancakes in the morning, and it makes for a delicious way to start your day off on the right foot. Overall, this flavor and taste of Legions Whey+ Protein Powder is surprisingly good.

Ingredients - 9.5/10

The ingredients in Legion Whey+ Protein Powder is almost impeccable. I was extremely impressed at the ingredient profile. One of the things that really impressed me was the fact that there are 5.6 grams of BCAA's in a serving. This is an added benefit that you don't see in many other protein supplements. Also, I really like the fact that this supplement is naturally sweetened and flavored. Now, I do want to say that I don't necessarily think that artificial sugars are all that toxic to a human's system, however I like the extra effort that this company put in to ensure that all sweeteners used were natural.

Looking at the ingredients under the nutrition facts, one of the most beautiful things about this supplement is the fact that you can fully pronounce and recall all the added ingredients used in this protein powder. All of these ingredients are probably household items that perhaps you have used in your own kitchen. This speaks volumes to how much this company cares about the ingredients they put into their products.

Pictured above are not the cinnamon cereal flavor nutrition facts. Nutrition facts vary among various flavors.

Nutrition - 8/10

To be honest with you, I think that my only gripe with this protein has to be the nutrition facts. As I am sure that most of us can attest to, getting the proper amount of protein in everyday is really difficult. For that very reason, we turn to protein supplements as a boost to our daily intake of protein everyday when we need it to ensure proper muscle building. In a scoop of this protein powder, there is a total of 22 grams of protein, which is by no means bad! I just tend to prefer a protein more towards 25 grams per scoop, as it just makes it easier to hit those daily protein numbers. Unfortunately, there are also only 30 servings of this protein per tub, which means that if you are double scooping to increase your protein, you will blow through this tub reallllll quick (Unless you get the 5 lb tub, which honestly isn't a bad idea).

As for the other nutrition facts, they are really solid. Per scoop, you find that there is 1.5 grams of fat and 2 grams of carbohydrates. This is nothing! Those are really solid numbers, especially for a solid tasting protein with a fantastic ingredient profile.

Mixability - 10/10

I have no issues mixing this supplement with anything I want. Like I said earlier, I have been making delicious protein pancakes with this protein and it mixes into the batter probably better than flour would. In a regular shake, there are no chunks and the consistency of the shake is great.

Value - 9/10

For what you get, this protein is well worth the money. I really recommend Legion Protein Powder to anyone looking for a great all around way to meet your protein requirements. For a 30 serving tub, it costs $40 which rounds out to about $1.33 per scoop. That is certainly cheap when compared to the pricing of some other protein supplements with ingredients that are much less desirable. You can also step up and get a 5 lb tub for $100, which comes out to $1.35 per serving..... Which is really strange... I don't actually know why it is more expensive. WE NEED ANSWERS LEGION!!

Overall, It's a strong buy from me. Grab a tub for yourself using the link below to support BroPump! I look forward to many more reviews in the future, including a review of a popular vegan protein supplement for all you plant eaters! Stay strong and stay up to date with the latest and greatest supplements.
